Simon Fraser University swept their four-game season series with Selkirk College after winning back-to-back road games in Castlegar this weekend. SFU, which sported less than complete line-ups in both games due to injuries, took a 9-2 lead into the third period of Saturday night's game and withstood a furious Saints rally to hold on for an 11-9 victory.
Simon Fraser captains Shawn Murracas and Jason Pagliaro led the way Saturday with five points a piece while goaltender Joseph Demare made a series of challenging stops in the game's closing minutes to record his first win since joining the team in January.
SFU forward Dave Remple led the charge Sunday, recording a hat trick on even strength, power play and short-handed goals during a 4-2 victory in which Simon Fraser outshot Selkirk 52-18.
Simon Fraser next hits the ice Friday with a road tilt against the University-College of the Fraser Valley Cascades In Abbotsford (9:45 pm, Matsqui Rec Centre).
