Logan Lake enters Saturday’s game with their first two points in program history.

Friday’s action saw the Logan Lake Miners down the first-place UVic Vikes by a score of 4-3, ending the Vikes’ six-game winning streak in the process. Goaltender Matthew Ens held the Miners into the game until the very end, stopping 64 of 67 shots he faced. Logan Lake’s next challenge will be no easier as they head to the Nanaimo Ice Centre to face the VIU Mariners.

VIU’s last matchup against the Miners ended in dominant fashion, with the Mariners walking away with a 10-2 win in Logan Lake. The Mariners are looking to get back in the win column after falling to the Okanagan Lakers last weekend to finish their road trip with a 1-1-0 record. VIU’s current 5-3-0 record has them in third place behind Okanagan, but only one point ahead of the SFU Red Leafs who defeated the Lakers 4-3 on Friday. Forwards Ethan Jones and Logan Kurki lead the league in points with 22 and 21 in 8 games each, and the team will look to them again to have a strong performance.
