Beginning in the 2013/14 season, the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League introduced the Academic Excellence Awards program. BCIHL Academic Excellence honourees are student-athletes who are enrolled in a full-time program as determined by their institution and who achieve a minimum of 80% during the academic year (September to August). The BCIHL congratulates all its student-athletes whose success extends from the classroom to the arena.
