Simon Fraser University goaltender Jordan Liem has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending October 9th.
The third-year netminder was tremendous in picking up a pair of road wins on the weekend, starting with a 34-save effort on Friday night in Cheney as the Clan squeeked out a 3-1 victory over Eastern Washington.
And the New Westminster product was named first star on Saturday, as he stopped all 17 shots he faced in the first period and 35 in total to lead SFU to a 3-2 win over Selkirk College. That victory represents the Clan's first successful outcome in Castlegar since the 2011/12 season.
Liem finished the weekend with a 1.50 goals-against average and .955 save percentage.
Runners up for this week's award include Simon Fraser University forward Scott Patterson, Trinity Western University forward Evan Last and University of Victoria defenceman Kyle Bird.
