Selkirk College forward Landon Walters led the way with a pair of goals as the Saints wrapped up a weekend sweep of their two-game series against the University of Victoria with a 6-2 win on home ice.
Goals from Nolan Percival and Dylan Heppler sandwiched an Otis Goldman tally as Selkirk took a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. Walters netted his first of the game midway through the second period before Goldman struck a second time, but a power-play marker from Ed Lindsay restored the host's two goal lead heading in to the third.
The Vikes outshot Selkirk in the third period but couldn't crack Saints starter Patrick Zubick, and Tyler Hartman eventually scored an insurance marker with 4:11 remaining to put the game out of reach.
Walters finished the night with three points and was named the game's first star, while Percival, Hartman, Heppler, Kadrian Klimchuk and Brayden McCartney each finished with two points. Goldman continued his hot start to the season with two goals for the Vikes while Landen Matechuk added two helpers.
Alec Dillon shouldered the loss in goal for the Vikes, giving up four goals in 26 shots before being replaced by Michael Fredrick following the second period. Zubick faced 22 shots in the win.
The Vikes have now dropped four straight games since picking up their lone win of the season against Selkirk at home on October 19th. They sit in last spot in the BCIHL standings at 1-6-0-0 heading into next weekend's match-up against Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo.
The Saints, meanwhile, moved to 3-3-0-2 and sit tied for third place with the Spartans, who have played four less games. Selkirk is off until Friday, November 16th when they host Trinity Western for the first of two weekend games in Castlegar.
