Trinity Western University forward Jarrett Fontaine is the ANYTHING BRANDED Player of the Week for the week ending October 8th.
The 23-year-old from Humboldt, Saskatchewan started the season with four points in two games for the Spartans, who kicked off the 2018-19 campaign as defending BCIHL champions. Fontaine had the winner on Friday night as TWU needed overtime to knock off Vancouver Island University 3-2 and was named first star of the game.
On Saturday, Fontaine scored a third period marker to bring TWU within one and added an assist on the winning goal as the Spartans battled back from a 4-1 deficit to win 5-4 on home ice against the Mariners. He was named second star for his efforts.
Fontaine picked up where he left off in last season's playoffs when he paced all scorers with 10 points (3-7-10) in four games as the Spartans won their first ever BCIHL championship.
Runners up for this week's ANYTHING BRANDED POW award include Trinity Western University forward Evan Last, TWU goaltender Lucas Mills, Selkirk College forwards Dylan Heppler and Edward Lindsey, Vancouver Island University forward Kobe Oishi and Simon Fraser University forward Jaret Babych.
