The University of Victoria is pleased to announce that right winger Eddie May has committed to the Vikes for 2018/19 B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League season.
May stands at 6-foot-3 and is known as a hard hitting, two-way forward. He spent the 2017/19 season with the SJHL's Kinderlsey Klippers, where he scored 11 goals and added 12 assists and 169 minutes in penalties.
Prior to joining the Klippers, the 20-year old suited up in 38 AJHL games with the Calgary Canucks and the Camrose Kodiaks.
“Being able to continue to play a game I love while in university is a dream come true," says May. "The high level of academics and the beautiful campus are the main reasons I chose to attend the University of Victoria next year."
“I'd like to thank my family, teammates, coaches, and especially my billet parents for facilitating an unbelievable junior experience for me," says May I know for a fact that I would not be where I am today without these people in my life."
May is the Vikes' third commitment of 2018, joining forward Branden Voss (Drayton Valley, AJHL) and defenceman Brody Jennings (English River, SIJHL).
The team will open training camp in September with the preseason and regular season schedules due to be released in July. For more information on the Vikes, visit www.vikeshockey.com.
