For the second consecutive season, Selkirk College forward Ryan Edwards has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Playoff MVP after he led the Saints to their fourth straight league championship.
Edwards once again played a starring offensive role for the Saints, leading both his team and all BCIHL scorers with 10 points in five playoff games.
He found an extra gear against Trinity Western University in the BCIHL Finals, picking up four assists in a Game 1 win and scoring the game winner in Game 2 to put the icing on a series sweep. He was named the game's First Star in both contests.
Edwards' 10 points tied a BCIHL record for scoring in a single postseason matching former SFU star Jaime Laprise, who set the mark in 2009.
The 2016 BCIHL Playoff All-Star team was also announced Thursday, with Edwards joining Selkirk College teammates Dallas Calvin, Tanner Lenting and James Prigione along with UVic's Linden Horswill and TWU's Blair Murphy.
Forwards: Dallas Calvin (Selkirk College), Ryan Edwards (Selkirk College) and Linden Horswill (University of Victoria).
Defencemen: Tanner Lenting (Selkirk College) and Blair Murphy (Trinity Western University).
Goaltender: James Prigione (Selkirk College).
