Trinity Western University forward Evan Last is the ANYTHING BRANDED Player of the Week for the week ending March 17th.
The third-year forward scored a pair of goals on Friday night in a 9-1 rout of Vancouver Island University in Game Two of the BCIHL Finals as the Spartans won their second straight league championship. Last's first period power play goal stood up as the eventual winner as TWU put an exclamation mark on its outstanding season.
The 24-year-old from Surrey, BC was also key in Game One on Thursday as he scored a power play goal in the first period to spark the Spartans to erase a 2-0 deficit en route to a 3-2 victory.
Last closes out the 2019 BCIHL playoffs as the league's scoring leader with six points (4-2-6) in four games as Trinity Western swept both its semifinal against Simon Fraser University and the league final against VIU.
He was named to the BCIHL's Playoff All-Star Team in both 2017 and 2018, and is a strong candidate to be named as a Playoff All-Star for a third straight season.
Runners up for this week's award include Trinity Western University forwards Jarrett Fontaine and Brayden Brown, Spartans goaltender Lucas Mills, and Vancouver Island University forward Dylan McCann.
