Selkirk College goaltender Patrick Zubick is the ANYTHING BRANDED Player of the Week for the week ending February 10th.
The 22-year-old from Castlegar, BC was outstanding this past weekend, making a combined 80 saves as the Saints won a pair of pivotal games on home ice against Vancouver Island University.
On Friday, Zubick kicked out 41 shots, including 18 in the third period, as Selkirk outgunned the Mariners 6-5. His effort earned him third star honours in the game.
One night later, the former Dryden Ice Dogs netminder made 39 saves in the Saints 4-2 win over VIU. He was part of a stellar Selkirk penalty kill that kept the Mariners' league-best power play off the board in seven opportunities. Zubick was named first star for the second time this season.
His goals saved above average is best in the league at 10.06 while his save percentage of .911 is second overall.
Runners up for this week's ANYTHING BRANDED POW award include Vancouver Island University forward Gage Colpron and Selkirk College forward Nolan Percival.
