Trinity Western University defenceman Dustin Deugau is the ANYTHING BRANDED Player of the Week for the week ending February 12th.
The 21-year-old from Calgary had five assists to pace all point-getters as the Spartans romped to an 11-1 victory over Eastern Washington University on Friday night.
Deugau had three first period power play assists as TWU broke out to a 4-0 lead. He added another power play assist and an even strength helper in the third as the Spartans tied a season high in goals scored.
The Fort Frances Lakers alumnus has obliterated his point total as a rookie last season when he had just one assist in 19 games. Deugau is riding a six game point streak that's seen him tally 11 points (two goals, nine assists) over that stretch. He's also averaging a point-per-game in 2017-18 and moved into 11th overall in BCIHL scoring this season.
Deugau now leads all blueliners in scoring this season, four points ahead of teammate Stefan Gonzales and SFU's Mathew Berry-Lamontagna.
Runners up for this week's ANYTHING BRANDED POW award include Simon Fraser University forward Brendan Lamont, University of Victoria goaltender Alec Dillon, Vikes forward Landen Matechuk, and Selkirk College forward Parker Sharp.
