Veteran Jr netminder Kreitz commits to UVic from KIJHL's Nelson Leafs

The University of Victoria is pleased to announce that goaltender Caiden Kreitz has committed to the Vikes for the 2019/20 B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League season.

Kretiz joins Victoria from the KIJHL's Nelson Leafs, where he recorded 23 wins and 5 losses with a GAA of 1.91 and a .933 SV% last season. He was named the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League's Top Goaltender following the season.

He also spent parts of three seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, appearing in 52 regular season and playoff games with the Calgary Canucks.

A native of Calgary, Kreitz played his minor hockey with the Shaw Meadows Hockey Association. With his junior career now behind him, is looking for to calling UVic home for the next 4 years.

“As far as hockey is concerned, I’m being welcomed by a personal and professional coaching staff, as well as a young dressing room with a bright future ahead of them," says Kreitz. "With that said, I’m both grateful and excited to become a Vike, and will do all I can to bring a BCIHL championship back to Victoria."

As a smaller school, I look forward to building meaningful relationships with classmates, while still being able to pursue an excellent education.
