The British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League is pleased to announce that the inaugural BCIHL Alumni Week is set to take place from February 1st to 9th, 2019.
This special week will feature stories on former student-athletes as well as alumni-related activities taking place at BCIHL games during the week.
The BCIHL was established in 2006, and over the past decade hundreds of student-athletes have earned post-secondary education while studying full time and competing in the league.
Our teams proudly support the academic success of their players, and since 2013 we have recognized over 140 individuals through the Academic All-Star Awards for achieving an 80% average or above in their classes.
BCIHL alumni have gone on to careers in almost every field, from sports to forestry and mining to business and technology. By establishing Alumni Week, our teams will align their efforts in recognizing the contributions of these individuals and celebrate their successes both on and off the ice.
We encourage all alumni to take part in the activities taking place at each game, and we encourage all fans to help us in celebrating the accomplishments of our graduates.
