University of Victoria forward Luciano Somerville has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending November 27th.
The fifth-year forward accomplished a rare feat on Friday night when he exploded for five goals in a single game to lead the Vikes to a 10-5 win over Eastern Washington.
The 23-year old netted his first of the game on a power-play with 5:33 remaining in the second period and went on to add three more goals in the next five minutes. He put home his fifth of the game early in the third period and also picked up an assist on a Shawn Mueller goal.
The six-point night more than doubled Somerville's poitns output to this point in the season. He nows sits 12th in league scoring with seven goals and 11 points in 12 games played.
Runners up for this week's award include Simon Fraser University defenceman Daniell Lange, Eastern Washington University forward Trevor Zakrajsek and University of Victoria forward Shawn Mueller.
