A pair a traditional BCIHL powerhouses will look to get their games back on track this weekend when Simon Fraser University makes the short trip across the Georgia Strait to face the University of Victoria in a pair of games at the Ian Stewart Complex (Friday & Saturday, 7:00 PM).
The Clan have been stuck in neutral early in the regular season, trading wins and losses in recent weeks including a 3-2 defeat at Trinity Western last Saturday. Now sitting at 4-3-0 and third place in the league standings, Mark Coletta's squad will hope to gain some momentum in their final four contests of 2015.
The Vikes, meanwhile, are enduring a four-game losing streak during which they've picked up just one of eight possible points. That point came in a 7-6 shootout loss against the Clan in which Victoria led 6-4 heading in to the third period. But home ice has been friendly for the Vikes, who picked up a 3-2 win over Selkirk College on October 10th.
With three points this weekend, SFU forward and team captain Jono Ceci would tie the all-time BCIHL scoring record current held by former UCFV and TWU sniper Robert Vos. Ceci missed last weekend's trip to Langley but has seven points in six games so far this season.
The Vikes, meanwhile, have been scoring by committee early in the season, with former Nelson Leafs linemates Carsen Willans and
Linden Horswill leading the way with eight and seven points respectively.
Both games this weekend will be broadcast live on
FAST Hockey.
