Trinity Western University will play the last game of its five-game home stand this Saturday when the Spartans host Simon Fraser University at 7:00 PM at the Langley Events Centre.
The Spartans have won three games in a row and four of their last five outings, but the lone loss in that run came against SFU – a team that, dating back to last year and including the post-season, has knocked off TWU in five consecutive games.

SPARTANS NOTES • Since a 5-4 loss to SFU on Oct. 10th, the Spartans have put together three solid efforts and earned three well-deserved wins, beating Eastern Washington twice and Victoria once.
• The Spartans are coming off a 6-1 win over EWU in which they outscored the Eagles 4-0 in the third period.
• TWU has outscored its opponents 13-4 over its last three games.
• PJ Buys and Mattias Schmitt are tied for the team-lead in points through six games. Buys has five goals and five assists and Schmitt has four goals and six assists.
• Due to scheduling circumstances, after Saturday’s game, TWU only has four more games at the LEC.

CLAN NOTES• Simon Fraser is coming off a 6-2 win over Eastern Washington, which saw the Clan open up a 4-0 lead before cruising to a convincing victory.
• The win was an impressive bounce back effort after SFU had lost to Selkirk 5-0 the previous weekend.
• The last time TWU and SFU played, Jaret Babych and Michael Sandor scored two goals each to lead the Clan to a 5-4 win.
• Tyler Basham, who had two assists against TWU in their last meeting, leads SFU in scoring with four goals and five assists in six games. Jono Ceci, who led the team in scoring in 2013-14, is second on the Clan in scoring with one goal and six assists.
• SFU’s has a league-leading power play that is working at 24.1 per cent, scoring seven goals on 29 opportunities.
