On the latest edition of the 2014/15 "Inside the BCIHL" audio podcast, host Brian Wiebe checks in with key players from the teams at the top and bottom of the BCIHL standings.
First, Brian chats with Trinity Western University blueliner and team captain Blair Murphy after the Spartans clinched their first-ever BCIHL regular season title last Friday. TWU now boasts a 16-3-0-2 record while Murphy is one of the league's top scoring defensemen with three goals and 16 points in 16 games.
Next, Brian talks with Eastern Washington forward and reigning BCIHL Player of the Week Paxton Bell, who scored a pair of goals and added an assist in a big 5-2 home win over Simon Fraser University on Saturday.

Host Brian Wiebe talks with coaches, players and team broadcasters to bring BCIHL fans into the loop with the latest happenings around their favorite team.
About Brian Wiebe:
Brian is in his second season as the SFU Men's Hockey team play-by-play broadcaster and has been involved in broadcasting sports in B.C. for 13 years. In addition, he is the Assistant Instructor for the Radio Arts and Entertainment Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Prior to that, he served as Program Manager, Morning Host, and Sports Director with Merritt Broadcasting Ltd. in Merritt for close to ten years. Wiebe got his start in sports broadcasting as colour commentator on Burnaby Bulldogs radio broadcasts on CFML 104.5 in 2001.
Wiebe's career in sports also includes stints outside of the broadcast booth, as he was a member of the Merritt Centennials Board of Directors from 2006-2008, including one season as Team President. He also served as Centennials' webmaster from 2006-2012 and Media & Communications Coordinator from 2010-2012.
He also is a contributing writer to the BC Hockey League's Smart Hockey Magazine and maintains a hockey blog called Brian's Banter covering the BCIHL, NCAA, BCHL, PJHL, KIJHL, BCMML and more. Wiebe is a graduate of the Radio Broadcasting Program at BCIT. Wiebe and his wife, Karla, live in Port Moody with their sons Evan and Riley. Contact Brian via email.
