The University of Victoria has announced a pair of player commitments for the 2020/21 B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League season, as forward Jack Fairfield and blueliner Cianan Briscoe are set to join the Vikes.
Fairfield is a 2000-born forward who split the 2019/20 season between the KIJHL's Golden Rockets and the VIJHL's Comox Valley Glacier Kings, combining to score six goals and 17 points in 41 regular season games. The Coachrane, Alberta product netted 11 points with the Rockets as a KIJHL rookie the previous season.
Briscoe is a 1999-born blueliner who played 115 games in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League split between the Peninsula Panthers, Comox Valley Glacier Kings and Saanich Braves. In 2019/20, he scored twice and added a pair of assists in 24 regular season games with Saanich before joining the Western States Hockey League's Seattle Totems, where he netted eight points in 29 games.
Fairfield and Briscoe join forwards Colton Hutchinson and Lucas Thompson, as well as goaltender Blake Pilon, as players who have commited to join the Vikes next season. Additional announcements will be made in the coming weeks.
