Trinity Western University returns home for a pair of games this weekend, hosting Selkirk College on Friday at the Langley Events Centre followed by the University of Victoria on Saturday afternoon at the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre.
The Spartans enter the weekend having won three consecutive games and sit first in the BCIHL with a 15-1-0-1 record. TWU has yet to lose to either Victoria or Selkirk this season, recently picking up wins over Victoria (10-1) and Vancouver Island (5-1) last weekend.
A pair of TWU wins this weekend combined with an SFU regulation loss would see the Spartans clinch first place in the BCIHL standings and home ice advantage through the league playoffs.
Friday’s game against Selkirk will be Seniors night, as TWU honours five of its graduating players: Evan Last, Dustin Deugau, Tyler McMinn, Dylan Sakatch and Alistair Duncan.
Selkirk's last win against TWU came over a year ago, on Jan. 31, 2019 (3-2). The Saints have won just once over their last 12 games.
Evan Last and Logan Casavant each lead the Spartans in scoring this season (26 points). They each sit two points back of VIU's Garrett Dunlop (28) for first in league scoring.
