The BC Intercollgiate Hockey League announced today that Selkirk College defenceman Tristen Cross is the BCIHL Player of the Week for the period ending December 1, 2019.
Cross had two goals and two assists in two games as the Saints hit the road for a pair of games on Vancouver Island this past weekend against the University of Victoria and Vancouver Island University.
The Virden, Manitoba product scored Selkirk College’s first goal on a power play in the middle frame and added two third period assists as the Saints ultimately fell 4-3 in a shootout against the UVic Vikes on Friday night. The goal was the first of his career in the BCIHL.
The next night, the 21-year-old notched his second goal in as many games as he opened the scoring for the Saints with 4:19 left in the first period against VIU. Cross was named second star, but the Mariners won 3-2.
