SFU's Patterson named BCIHL Player of the Week after five-point weekend

Simon Fraser University forward Scott Patterson has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending Janury 15th.

The former NCAA Division I forward helped the Clan earn a weekend split in Castlegar with Selkirk College with a pair of multi-point games.

On Friday, Patterson opened and closed the scoring in a 5-3 win while also assisting on a power-play tally from Graham Smerek. His three points earned him first star honours following the victory. And on Saturday, he was in on both of SFU's goals, scoring once before assisting on a Jesse Mysiorek marker in a 4-2 loss.

Patterson's five point weekend puts him in a tie with TWU forward Evan Last for the BCIHL scoring lead with 23 points. 

Runners up for this week's award include University of Victoria forward Patrick Holland, Selkirk College forward Ryan Edwards and University of Victoria goaltender Zack Wear.
