There will be no shortage of storylines when the 2016/17 B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League season kicks off on October 7th with a pair of games.
Will Selkirk College be able to capture a fifth consecutive BCIHL title? And if not, who will stop them?
Will Patrick Holland, the BCIHL's first ever ex-NHLer, dominate the competition as a member of the UVic Vikes?
Can two-time defending BCIHL scoring champ Beau Walker lead the league in points for a third consecutive season?
Those questions and more will begin to be answered as the BCIHL embarks on a 60-game regular season schedule that concludes on Saturday, March 4th. The league's scheduling format remains the same as in past seasons, with teams facing each opponent four times -- twice at home and twice on the road.
The 2017 BCIHL Playoffs will begin with first round action on Friday, March 10th while the league's Championship series will run from March 17-19, 2017.
The season will also see BCIHL teams face off against an impressive group of non-conference opponents, including NCAA D1 competition.
The SFU Clan will travel to face a trio of US teams in Alaska-Anchorage, Alaska Fairbanks and Arizona State. Meanwhile, TWU is Alberta-bound for an exhibition series against Red Deer College in September.
For the fifth year running, all BCIHL games will be broadcast online via the league's webcasting partner, FAST Hockey. Join us for all the action beginning October 7th!
