Eastern Washington University is pleased to announce the addition of defenseman Tyler Zandhuisen (Spokane, WA) for the 2016-17 B.C Intercollegiate Hockey League season.
The 6-foot, 175-pound blueliner is a four-year veteran of the Western States Hockey League's Missoula Maulers, where he scored 24 goals and 62 points over a total of 96 career regular season games.
He served as an alternate captain during the 2015/16 seasons while setting career highs in goals and points with 16 and 33 respectively.
"Tyler is a very big addition to our program this offseason," says Eagles head coach Jason Greenwell. "He will bring some much needed depth to our defensive group and can play in any situation. We look forward to having Tyler in Cheney in the fall and I'm very excited with what he brings to our group.”
Zandhuisen is a local product having grown up in the Spokane area prior to playing his junior hockey in Missoula. He is the Eagles' second addition on the blueline this spring following Kyle Blondin’s transfer from St. Mary’s College.
