Eastern Washington University is pleased to announce a playing commitment from defenceman Brandon Wilbert (Burbank, WA) to join the Eagles for the 2014/15 B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League season.
Wilbert joins the Eagles after spending last season with the NCAA Division III Finlandia University Lions in Hancock, MI.
As a junior, Wilbert patrolled the blueline for the Gillette Wild of the America West Hockey League. With the Wild, he scored a goal and added 10 assists in 64 regular season games.
He also spent time with the NORPAC's Tri-City Titans and the Granite City Lumberjacks of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League.
Wilbert is the third defenseman to commit to EWU this spring as the team continues with what is expected to be the largest recruiting class in the team’s history.
The Eagles coaching staff said they were looking for depth at all areas and they appear to have accomplished that on the blueline so far. The next moves from the team are expected to be additions to the forward core as the team has said they have made a few offers and are working with those players to finalize agreements before they make any more moves.
Follow the team on social media and on their website to keep up with all the additions.
