The Okanagan College Coyotes are pleased to announce that former Kamloops Blazers forward Brady Mason has committed to join the team for the 2010/11 British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League season.

Mason joins the Coyotes following a successful junior hockey career that included stints with the Western Hockey League’s Kamloops Blazers and Everett Silvertips. The 23-year old totalled 13 goals and 20 assists in 142 WHL games before concluding his junior career with the British Columbia Hockey League’s Westside Warriors.

The Kelowna, B.C. product then spent the 2009/10 season with the SAIT Trojans of the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference, where he scored three goals and six points in helping his team to their fourth consecutive league championship.

“Brady represents the calibre of athlete that the Coyotes program is looking to build around,” says Coyotes head coach Kim Barnstable. “The experience and leadership he gained from his time in the WHL, BCHL and ACAC will be a welcome addition as we work towards our first BCIHL title.”

“I’m thrilled to be returning home to play my collegiate hockey at Okanagan College,” says Mason. “It’s a growing program in a very competitive league and I’m looking forward to being part of a winning team.”

Mason joins former Sicamous Eagles captain Aaron Buat as Coyotes recruits for the 2010/11 season. Okanagan College expects to make a number of additional player announcements in the coming weeks. More information on the team can be found online at www.ochockey.ca.
