The BC Intercollegiate Hockey League announced today that Trinity Western University forward Hayden Guilderson is the BCIHL Player of the Week for the period ending February 9, 2020.
Guilderson had four goals and two assists in two games as the Spartans extended their winning streak to five games with a pair of home ice victories.
The Chilliwack, BC product scored in the first and second period before adding an assist in the third period to pace TWU to a 5-2 win over Selkirk College. It was Guilderson's first multi-goal game of the 2019-20 season.
The 22-year-old duplicated the feat on Saturday, scoring the Spartans' first goal of the game en route to an 8-1 drubbing of the University of Victoria. He also chipped in with an assist in the first period and notched TWU's last goal with 1:12 remaining in the game.
The former junior A veteran is hot as of late, riding a four game point streak with five goals and five assists during that stretch. Guilderson is now fourth in scoring on the Spartans this season with eight goals and 15 assists in 19 games.
Honourable mentions for this week's BCIHL Player of the Week include Trinity Western University forwards Kade Vilio (five assists) and Brayden Brown (two goals, one assist), Selkirk College forward Edward Lindsey (two goals and one assist) and Simon Fraser University goaltender Michael Lenko (21 saves, one shutout).
