The B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League is pleased to announce that its first-ever Exposure Camp will be held from April 19-21 at Sportsplex in Langley, B.C. and that registration is now open.
Whether you're looking to play university hockey next season or hoping to get onto the radar of college coaches for future years, the BCIHL Exposure Camp presents a great opportunity to take the next steps in your hockey and scholastic journeys.
The camp will give players aged 15+ the chance to compete in front of the coaching staffs from all five BCIHL teams over three days. All participants will play three games and have one practice run by BCIHL head coaches.
"We expect this to be a tremendous event for the BCIHL and a great way for young players to begin the recruitment process, learn about our league and interact with coaches from all of our teams," says BCIHL President Chris Munshaw.
"The interest level in playing in the BCIHL has never been higher, and this camp will give prospective players a chance to get their foot in the door with the programs that interest them, learn about their academic options and increase the awareness level of our league as a whole."
The weekend will include information sessions by each institution to inform players and their families on the educational and athletic opportunities at their respective schools. The BCIHL's head coaches will also hold a round table discussion and Q & A open to all athletes and parents.
All participants will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with coaches during the camp and at the conclusion of their final game to receive feedback and discuss their athletic and academic development.
The BCIHL was founded in 2006 and is in its 13th season offering outstanding post-secondary hockey close to home. BCIHL teams regularly face off against NCAA competition, including games in recent seasons against Divison I schools like North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Providence College and Arizona State.
