The Eastern Washington University Eagles are excited to announce a commitment from Israeli-born forward Tom Ignatovich, who currently plays for the Seattle Totems of the Western State Hockey League.
Ignatovich, born in Haifa, Israel, has spent time playing internationally with the Israeli U18 and U20 teams. He will take part in the World Junior Championships Division III tournament at the end of this month in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The 5-foot-8, 154 pound centre will bring along a strong faceoff game as well as the ability to use his body to effectively control play.
Ignatovich has scored a team-leading 25 goals and totaled 49 points and 19 penalty minutes so far this season with the Totems. In 72 career WSHL games he has netted 29 goals and 38 assists.
"Tom is a highly skilled player who excels in the faceoff circle, and he’s a guy that isn’t afraid to get into the dirty areas of the ice and make things happen for the team," says Eagles Associate Head Coach John Strait.
"Tom is a great kid who will bring strong character to our dressing room and will complement our returning players in 2018. Coach Greenwell and myself are looking forward to integrating Tom into our team and getting him in an Eagles uniform."
Ignatovich will join the Eagles for the 2018/19 season.
